While most media look for sounds bites to play over and over again during the Denver University debate, I like to look for salient points. I detest rhetoric and gamesmanship. I just want to hear facts and learn of the beliefs of a candidate. Mitt Romney in a single statement cut to the core of Obama with the following statement.
“What we’re seeing right now is a trickle down government approach which has government thinking it can do a better job than people pursuing their dreams. It’s not working,” he said. “And the proof of that is 23 million people out of work. The proof of that is one out of six people in poverty. The proof of that is we’ve gone from 32 million on food stamps to 47 million on food stamps. The proof of that is 50 percent of college graduates this year can’t find work. We know that the path we’re taking is not working. It’s time for a new path.”
Obama believes in central control of the federal government. Basically everything he advocates is rooted in the federal government paying it, taxing it or controlling it. That’s what Romney is talking about when he says, “trickle down government”. Obama wants to control through the federal government and disperse monies and powers through him and his appointees.
Bravo Romney for standing tall and bringing this up during the debate.
My only wish is that Romney had gone into further detail of the Obama trickle down government. The plethora of Obama failures he could have included:
The sad part about it is the above is just a partial list of Obama failures during the past four years.
Here is another key point about the debate. Obama kept talking about what he was going to do if re-elected. The 800 pound gorilla in the room question is this. Why haven’t you done it?
Obama talks about the problems he inherited. Guess what? All Presidents inherit problems. But before you were elected Mr. President you said you were going to fix those problems. Now four years later you continue promising that you are going to fix those problems. But the real problem is that you haven’t fixed anything-You’ve just made everything much worse.
Bravo Mitt Romney. Keep doing what you’re doing and you’ll easily win the election.
